Fatima the Fatsia – The Motown Diva

Everyone, please welcome the current style icon of the garden…Fatima the Fatsia and her absolutely outrageous 1960s Motown leaf wig. After her near-death experience in the snow earlier this year, Fatima has decided that recovery should come with maximum drama and volume. She has sprouted six brand new bright green curly leaves piled high on top of her head like she’s about to perform “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” at the Apollo. She is serving full Supremes realness. The older leaves are still a bit battered and curled from the snow trauma, but the new ones? Oh, they’re loud, they’re proud, and they’re standing straight up like she’s got a can of extra-strong hairspray and zero regrets.Caroline the Cordyline is giving her serious side-eye from across the border.
Briony the Peony (what's left of her) just looks exhausted by the whole performance.
The squirrels have been using her as a climbing frame because “it’s got good grip”.
I told Fatima she looks fabulous.
She responded by growing another half-inch of wig overnight.
We’re all very proud of her recovery… but we may never let her live this hairstyle down. When her grandkids (or great-grandkids) look through the family photo album one day, they’ll point and say:“Wow, what was Great-Grandma Fatima going through in 2026?”And I’ll just smile and say:
“She survived snow, slugs, and Tom the Gardener… and she did it with style.”
The end (until Fatima decides to add even more volume to the wig)
