Caroline’s Current State

This is Caroline this morning. She looks utterly exhausted. After everything she’s been through — planted too early, fleece removed too soon, frost, wind, and months of slow recovery — she’s now lying on the ground with most of her long leaves flopped sadly in the dirt. Only one brave upright leaf is still trying to hold the fort. She’s not getting worse, but she’s not really getting better either. She’s just… tired.I keep checking the centre for any sign of new growth, but so far there’s nothing. Just one lonely 22-inch leaf doing all the work while the rest of her lays on the soil.Poor thing. We’re still giving her time, gentle watering when needed, and a lot of quiet encouragement. No feeding yet. No pruning. Just patience.Caroline has been the most dramatic and heartbreaking plant in the garden this year. We’re all rooting for her (literally), even if she currently looks like she’s had enough of everything.
